Concentra is a healthcare company in the United States that specializes in occupational medicine, urgent care, and physical therapy services. The company operates a network of medical centers across the country, providing a range of healthcare services to employers and individuals.
Concentra wanted to build a custom feature on their internal employee software that would allow users to book rides to and from company locations. We began this engagement by talking to Concentra stakeholders about their reason for building this feature. They were using a 3rd party system to book Uber and Lyft rides for employees / users which caused a lot of friction, pain points, and system abuse from employees and users.
During this engagement I met with our technical lead and project manager daily to gather technical requirements, dev limitations and future state goals to ensure project success.
After documenting in the requirements and converting it to user stories, I started designing and iterating on screens. I used the client's design system and branding guidelines as guards to keep us in line with the business' overall brand. I designed multiple options and user flow concepts which I presented to the leadership team. We gathered feedback and finalized a design to pass onto development.
The new user flow and design saves employees time, and prevents users from abusing the system to book personal (non-work related) rides. The new flow also prevents users from booking rides beyond a 25 mile radius-saving the company resources, time and money.
